Remember, I'm no expert on Angel, but this is what I've learned, so hopefully there's some starting pointers in there. air, the Hidden SDM will always come off if you are in the right health/power-bar conditions. But if you are doing reversal supers always use b,f,d,df+BCD and hold the BCD instead of b,f,d,df+BD. The hard part is that it only activates if the opponent tried to hit you from the air. By the way, doing the Hidden SDM is really easy for her. Keep em guessing and you'll take the match before they realized their health is gone.
Combos kof 2002 angel how to#
In circle chains, it's good to know how to mix up her High/low game with her high and low speed overhead game. It's not a bad thing, really as the extra speed of 2002 makes Angel circle combos that much more difficult to counter, just because it gives the opponent less time to see what you are doing. This is easier in 2001 than 2002 thanks to the faster speed of 2002. I typically hold back during the execution of a move or roll, and then simply do a dragon punch to kick off the super. But there is an easy way to perform b,f,d,df+P. Generally she's easy to control but she has one tricky manuever. Due to the great range on the move (especially D version), they'll hate it more than sweeps. If they are like that, that move can be the most annoying thing they'll ever see. If the opponent, on the other hand, has trouble blocking low (that is, they are always looking at your mid/high game and/or they're afraid of your use of overheads), it's all about the hcb+k. It's also not bad if used on the offensive, and a good way to deal extra damage. Sometimes, if the pressure is bad enough, you may count on this move to get you out of a jam.

Plus it launches the opponent for an air juggle. Another thing I noticed is that her rdp+k grab has deceptively good range, is instantaneous (but has missed animation so be careful). People typically think of Angel as having normal moves with no range, and the standing C can call a few surprises. You can use that to hit people when at a character length away. Mainly because the hit priority of it is nice, and the reach is a bit deceptive. Also her standing C is one of her better reaching normal moves. Her ducking C launches the opponent, and that's always a good thing. Her C isn't the be all, but it should not be underestimated, ever. It's good damage, but it's not Ralf GP damage, if you know what I mean. It certainly nails them like one, but the damage isn't quite a nice. Consider it a much quicker, but more vulnerable mini Ralf galactica Phantom. It's a nice combo finisher when your opponent goes hyper defensive and starts to read your overheads. One cool thing is that the f,f+C is unblockable. Stuff like f,f+a/c, count as circle combo finishers. There are a few exceptions to the rule, such as listed circle combo finishers.

HCB+A can be free cancelled right into any regular part of the circle combo and can quickly leap into the fray inside the combo.įrom there, you can do any single direction and a punch or kick button as long as they alternate direction and button type. However, the A version can be useful if you are starting an attack on a character that is at a distance. The problem is their startup, but the cool thing is the uber priority those moves have if contested at close range. The (HCB+A or C) is a strange double edge sword. Both are quick and they will link right into her (df+b), circle starter. That will hit or block stun perfectly into a (df+b). So I guess to start is to note a couple of useful starters that I found. Of course, her saving grace is that fortunately her quick pokes will combo right into her combo starters, and then you can have you some fun.Angel style.Īnyway, I will put all moves that actually start a circle combo in -> ().

Starting her combos is nice and all, but it wont help if your opponent is trying to poke you out of any opportunity to start. One important thing is to get used to how to poke with her. She's probably 2D's first circle combo character. One big thing is just getting used to her execution of moves. Half the time, I say Angel is performing the Neko Tsubasachan Elbow.

That voice actress just LOVES to say stuff like "Nyan!" in her roles. If she sounds "cat-like" to you, then don't be surprised. To me, the cool thing about Angel is that her voice (in 2002) is done by the same woman that played the character Tsubasa in "His and Her Circumstances - The anime". So I'm definitely not a master, but she is my current area of study. You and me are in the same exact position.
